Living in thee technological age... | logarithmically's Blog

My old cell phone has a battery life that lasts 7 days with high powered signal strength... meaning you could call from a basement out in the country... And I've dropped it twice in water by accident and it still works.

My new cell phone has a battery life of 1 1/2 day max without using it... along with poor signal strength... meaning you have to call from the top floor next to a window in the country... New phones (lol without dropping them in water) I find need to get fixed often...

It makes sense for me to call it a multimedia device rather than a phone... since you can: take pictures almost as good as some cameras, watch TV/movies, Internet, text, schedule/plan, games... shizz you name it and there is a phone that probably does it... I could even bring it to work and use it as a construction level lols...

I wish they'd make phones good again instead of busily making them into swiss army knives... And I'm sort of fine with the battery being crappy (because it can be charged up over night)... And in the city the signals amazing all the time... And I can figure out all the gadgets in any new cell phone fine off the bat... Its just being in the country that you start to notice it just plain kinda sucks as phone... I'm not that old and I'm use to things lasting, having quality, and doing what it was suppose to be made for "well"...

Its like the country has the silent say in things... Weird shit starts to happen with technology made in the city and brought out into the country

lol reminds me of the time I felt sorry for the 70 year old woman at the grocery store trying to figure out the debit machine...

Ohhh what? Thought I had to swipe it.... Huh? Ohhh I have to insert the chip into the machine.... Stab* Stab* hmmm why doesn't in wanna go in? Ohh thats where it goes... (time goes by)...

Till lady checks the machine and presses the card in a bit further... Smiles* back at the older lady, "It has to be in all the way for it to work."...

Older lady, "Why do they have to make things so difficult, what was wrong with the machines they had before... mumbles*, "pshhh by the time I figure this thing out they'll have already come out with another one."

(time goes by slowly as she reads and presses numbers carefully)

And at last success with items of food... Leaving with a "Take Care" or a "Have Good Day"... until technologies next victim hahaha <= evil laughter*

Evil Technology: "I will make you computer glitch out"
Country Luddite: "Thats fine I can do with out it... All my important stuff is off of it anyways... =) Big Smile*
Evil Technology: "Fine....Then.... I.... Will.... Claim someone else's computer in the city instead."

Some where... Some city... Some house... Some bed room... Some computer... ZZzzzzzzzap*... Followed by a Noooooooooooooo you can't do this to me now...
